Hohoho Merry Christmas

School Holiday (in Singapore) and Christmas is at the corner, want to have some bonding with your child? You can do some Christmas decoration by re-using toilet paper roll and Felt. You don't need to break your bank to do that. This is a no sewing craft.
You need :
- toilet paper roll
- felt, Red, green and white, or any colour which you like
- a pair of scissors
- a pen knife
- a hot glue gun
- measurement tape

1. Cut a line in the middle of the paper roll, dividing it into two. (size of the segments do not matter).
2. Using a measurement tape, measure the circumference  and the length of the paper roll

 

3. Cut the felt according to the measurements, giving/adding an allowance of 0.1 inch at each side for the gluing (which will be done later)

4. For the Santa's Belt, cut a strip of felt 3/8 inches wide, and as for the length, the size of you previously measured circumference.

 

 

5. Using a hot glue gun, help your child to glue the red felt to the paper roll segment, then glue the green belt and the white colour buckle to the roll. (Instruction on how to cut the buckle are shown in the above picture)

The Lovely world of art is that you can do whatever you want to , there is nobody has the right to say your design is wrong or right, it's only the matter of taste, perfect for you, but sometimes not for others. Feel good for it as that is your creation. Dare to expose and transform all your idea.

Indahnya dunia seni adalah bahwa kita bisa merancang apa saja, ga ada orang yang berhak menghakimin rancangan kita, dunia tanpa salah dan benar, yang ada hanya masalah selera, sempurna bagi perancang, mungkin tidak bagi orang lain. Berbangga lah dengan hasil karya mu. beranikan diri untuk menjelajahi dan mengujudkan semua ide2 anda.

Here are the Zigzag ribbon, also from Cotton Friends collection.
First burn the edge of the ribbon just a bit, this is to avoid the ribbon to be tared. just stitch diagonal up and down as shown at the picture below, pull it and you will get the zigzag pattern.If the length is achieved, secure with a knot, cut the ribbon. burn the end of the ribbon with care. Ready for design
Ini adalah pita zigzag, juga berasal dari buku cotton friends.
pertama2, bakar sedikit ujung pita, supaya saat kita mengerjakan pita, ujungnya tidak berantakan. lujur dalam bentuk diagonal naik dan turun, seperti di contoh dibawah ini, tarik benangnya, dan akan terlihat bentuk pola pita zigzag, Jika panjangnya sudah sesuai, kunci dengan jahitan mati, gunting pitanya dan jangan lupa secara hati2 bakar ujung pita. Siap untuk di rancang.

Christmas 2010 decoration part 2 - Flowers

I Love to collect Japanese art and craft magazines and books. Cotton friends was One of my favourite. It is so much fun thing to learn from there. But now the book publishing other contains that not suit my taste, so I don't collect anymore.
Here are so cute ribbon flowers I learnt from that book, basically they publish 4 petals flowers, Clover?? the lucky flower.Find out that can be modified into 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6 or even more petals.

You can use it for hairband, hair clip, cloth, brooch etc

Saya suka mengkoleksi aneka majalah dan buku kerajinan tangan Jepang. Cotton Friends dulu merupakan salahs atu kesukaanku. banyak yang bisa dipelajari dari buku yang terbit 3 bulanan itu. Tapi sayang sekarang isi buku itu mengarah ke hal-hal yangs aya kurangs uka, jadi saya berhenti berlangganan.

Bunga cantik ini saya dapatkan dari buku itu, pada dasarnya buku itu mengajarkan bunga dengan 4 kelopak, Clover?? bunga keberuntungan. setealh dicoba, ternyata bisa di akali menjadi kuncup bunga, bunga berkelopak 3, 4,5 ,6 atau bahkan lebih.

Bunga2 ini nantinya bisa digunakan sebagai hiasan di jepitan rambut, bando, baju dan lain2.

Here is the pattern, cut out at the centre 2 X 2 cm square from a 6 X 6 cm square cardboard.

Using this template to make flower Bud, 3 , 4,5 or more petals flower.

Untuk bunga 4 kelopak, bikinlah pola seperti di bawah ini, gunting kertas karton ukuran 6 X 6 cm persegi, ditengah2nya gunting persegi empat ukuran 2 X 2 cm. dengan menggunakan pola ini bunga2 kuncup, 3 , 4,5 atau lebih kelopak bisa dibikin.

I coloured one side of the cardboard for contrast

Saya mengwarnai salah satu sisi karton sebagai pengganti pita, agar lebih jelas menjelaskannya.

1. Imagine that the pink cardboard is the ribbon. line ribbon, and flip inward just at the 1st inner square, secure with a pin.

1. bayangkanlah karton merah jambu sebagai pita. ukur pita mulai dari sudut seperti di gambar dibawah, lipat ke arah dalam, kunci dengan jarum pentul.

2. flip inward again at another inner corner, secure with a pin.

2. Lanjutkan dengan pojok lingkaran dalam ke dua, lipat pita ke arah dalam (arah kedirimu) , kunci dengan jarum pentul.

3. flip inward again , cut the ribbon and that is the starting point for sewing.

3. Lipat kembali lagi ke arah dalam, potong ujung pita, seperti terlihat di bawah, inilah awal dari kita memulai melujur.

4. cut the excess ribbon as shown bellow.

4. Posisi pita akan seperti di bawah ini, potonglah sisa pita, seperti arah gunting dibawah ini.

5. Start sewing from this point, Only stitching the outer perimeter stitch for the whole circle. Pull it

5. Mulai menjahit, dengan tahap2 dibawah ini, ingat hanya melujur pada lingkar luar saja. bila lujur selingkar penuh, tarik benang, seperti terlihat di gambar bawah ini.

6. Here is the result, secure it by a dead knot, insert the needle to the centre of the flower, insert a golden pearl, sew through the middle and secure with another knot at the back, cut the string and done the flower. repeat the steps for more flowers.

Inilah contohnya, kunci dengan jahitan mati di bawahnya, tusuk kembali jarun dari posisi jahitan mati ke arah tengah dari bunga, tusuk hingga tembus ke depan, lalu masukkan mutiara emas ke jarum sebagai putik sarinya, tusuk kembali jarum ke arah tengah hingga ke belakang, lalu kunci dengan jahitan mati, potng benang dan seelsailah bunganya. Ikutin step yang sama untuk memperbanyak bunga.

For flower Bud

using the same above green template, just flip inward 1 time, and secure with a pin, sew the outer perimeter, pull it, secure with a knot at the back, and here is the flower bud.

Untuk kuncup bunga, cukup hanay lipat satu saja, dan mulai melujur, tahap2 lain seperti yang di atas.

For 3 petals flower, using the same template, flip inward twice, secure with a pin, sew the outer

perimeter, pull the string, secure with a knot at the back, sew through the centre from the back to the front and insert a golden pearl , sew it back to the back through the centre, secure it with a knot. cut out the string.

Begitu juga untuk bunga kelopak 3, prosedur sama seperti di atas.

For 5 petals flower, do flip inward 4 times, and sewing the outer perimeter, pull the string, secure with a knot at the back, sew it back through the centre, insert a golden pearl, sew back to the back, secure with a knot, cut the string. make as much as you need, or you may keep it for future use.

Christmas 2010 decoration part 1

Christmas is at the corner, school long holiday kick in, need some bonding time, try to do this

Christmas ball decorating with your family.

First of all you need Ribbon 1- 1 1/4 cm width. In Singapore I love to visit, Sin Hin Chuan kee, or near by Arab Street to get all the ribbons I need.

Natal menjelang. Sekolah mulai libur panjang, perlu waktu untuk mempererat ikatan batin dengan anak2?, coba bikin sendiri hiasan natal ini. Pertama tama diperlukan pita, lebar antara 1- 1 1/4 cm. kalau di Singapore, saya suka mengunjungi toko pita Sin Hin Chuan Kee, atau didekatnya di jalan Arab, untuk mendapatkan semua keperluan pita2 saya.

#1 you can use your last year Christmas ball, to give a new facelift on it. Measure the length of the ball. Cut the ribbon. Cut out 8 pcs of the same size.

#1 keluarkan hiasa bola2 Natal tahun lalu anda, kalau masih disimpan, ebrikan penampilan baru ke bola2 itu. Ukur panjangnya bola, lalu gunting 8 potong ukuran panjang yang sama.

#2, heat up low heat glue gun, and glue the end of the ribbon, repeat it at the other side.

#2. Panaskan low heat glue gun lalu lem salah satu ujung dari pita ke bola, lakukan di sisi ujung lainnya.

# 3 , continue doing the other corner, to have an equal size, it is recomended to start at the centre of the ball.

#3 Lanjutkan dengan sisi lain. untuk memperoleh lapisan yang sama sisi, usahakan memulainya dari titik tengah bola.

#4, Continue put on hot glue at the other centre of the ball.

#4 Lanjutkan dengan memberi lem panas pada sisi tengah lainya.

#5, If you feel like the hot glue is TOO HOT to handle , use a toothpick to push the hot glue.

#5. Jika anda ga tahan dengan panasnya Lem yang baru di tembakkan, gunakan tusuk gigi untuk mendorong lem panas agar menempel ke bola.

#6, keep continue until the whole ball is totally cover. Here is the top side of the final decorated ball. It may look a bit untidy with glue here and there. No worry, I will post the way to make some lovely flowers to hide out. keep visiting my blog.

# Lanjutkan hingga seluruh bola tertutup dengan pita, ini bagian atas dari bola yang telag di tutup pita. terlihat lem berepotan .
